A Local Legend, A Natural Connection

When we first met Uncle Rain Tree, we knew this was going to be more than just a furniture order. A beloved figure in Singapore’s online community, Uncle Rain Tree is known on TikTok as a warm, down-to-earth personality who shares stories of everyday Singaporean life, the kind of character that feels like everyone’s favourite uncle.

The name itself was destiny. “Rain Tree” is the English name for the very wood we build with, the iconic Suar tree, whose sweeping canopy shades Singapore’s expressways and parks. When someone who carries the Rain Tree in their name comes to us for a piece of furniture, we feel the full circle of what we do.

Uncle Rain Tree didn’t just commission a piece from us. He brought his story into our workshop, sat with our craftsmen, and let the wood speak. The result was a piece of furniture that carries both his character and the natural soul of the Rain Tree which are handcrafted, honest, and deeply Singaporean.

We featured this collaboration on our TikTok (@artofsuarwood) because it captures everything we believe in: wood as memory, craft as connection, and furniture that belongs to someone.
